I wanted to go to Scotland so badly this year, as there were merry little whisky tastings all over the country to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Robbie Burns' birth. It's only Dec 11th. Sacrilege!

I can't figure if I enjoy Lagavulin more, or the bottle it comes in, with the funny sayings.

Did you know that Glenmorangie boasts the tallest stills in all of Scotland? Yeah. They used to make gin in them. Also, it's the top selling whisky in the UK.Lottery Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11171564761912007601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1622500913870267857.post-80713070255739837362009-12-08T06:21:46.004-08:002009-12-08T06:21:46.004-08:00NM, you must hie yourself to Quebec. I ended up treating myself to a bottle of Lagavulin 16 yesterday. I didn't mean to, it just jumped into my hands (after I got the clerk to unlock the case) (and she went into the back to get it) and ooooh, baby, it's good. I started off hating the strong, peaty, boggy whiskies but now....

You take yours neat, right? My understanding is that the 13th cellar never leaves the UK because they sell it all and have none left over for us poor schmucks. I tasted it one time at a Scottish Games. I bought jewelry for my daughters from a vendor and as a special way of thanking me, he gave me a tasty of 13th cellar in one of those lovely silver dishes. I loved drinking it, and loved how great I felt afterwards. My children were APPALLED at the entire thing.
