Pocket Warmers the Old Fashioned Way

I'm reading a book on old-timey household hints and surprisingly, many are quite helpful.

Today's tip from the mid-1800s:

If you have to go out in the bitter cold, put a couple of baked potatoes in your pockets and use them as handwarmers. Make sure to wrap them in soft fabric (or nowadays, heavy duty foil) so you don't burn yourself.

The bonus? When you get home, you can eat them with sour cream and bacon bits and warm your insides too.

I like this tip way better than the one on scrubbing grout.
