Diddly Dee Potatoes

Funniest. Scot. On the Planet.

Danny Bhoy was raised outside Edinburgh, born of an Indian father and Scottish mother "the most humourless couple you will ever meet" and is now an Australian citizen. He's also a Montreal favourite and was voted King of our Comedy Festival. (If you've never been to Montreal, the summer is the time to come as we have world-class entertainment every year, including the Comedy Fest and the Jazz Fest.)

Funny and damned good-looking, a lethal combination in any man, and wtih an uncanny ability to do accents, Danny Bhoy rules. If he decides to come back to Montreal, I'm so there. Here's a taste.

Brilliant!! I have a number of people to email this link too :)

You are just a wealth of info, NA.

We caught the Comedy Fest in '92 on our honeymoon - Montreal is such an increbible city.

Oh, please do, Trudy. Send 'em on over.

Yes, Montreal is great. It's a big partay, all the time. And a great place for a honeymoon.

Coming from Toronto, it was an adjustment. In Toronto you work through lunch, but in Montreal, you'd take two hours and order a nice bottle of wine. If Toronto is the wife, then Montreal is the mistress. Toronto is cotton briefs, Montreal is silk lingerie. Toronto is sneakers with good arch support. Montreal is red high heels with tiny straps.

I feel an essay coming on.(g)

Oh my...

Now I know what my husband and I will be doing tonight . . . watching these videos, of course {g}

Oh, and Montreal does sound like a place to put on the short-list for vacation. Do they allow Americans at the party?

Okay. Montreal is like a giant kid with ADD. Very funny. Thanks for the link. Of course, Julie managed to do it with my entire name. Duck and run!

Jenny, Montreal LOVES Americans, and Americans LOVE Montreal. So European in the old port with the cobbled streets, and the food, oh, the food.... We used to see a lot more when the U.S. dollar was so strong.

Hilarious! He's so great!

But just for the record: I've never seen a German eat liver for breakfast. And I would, wouldn't I? ;)

NBB, I'm sure no one in Germany does, he just likes poking fun. There's more in the extended version of the first video I posted, if you look on his website. The second half of the video from the Montreal Gala 2007:

Oh yes... I only managed about 1 min 12 secs (my internet download is very ordinary, despite satelite) but enough to bring back memories of this boy during our comedy festival in Melbourne... we love that he's funny and sexy and got a great accent and a nice strong Aussie connection! We'll have him: our Nicole, our Keith, our Cate, our Danny Bhoy!

I'm coming to visit during this Festival - got room??

Sure, BB. You can have my room and I'll stay with Danny.

I'm driving myself crazy. I kept rewinding the second video clip at the "Diddly Dee Potatoes" bit (laughing my a$$ off) and now I can't get that damn saying out of my mind!!!

Midge, if you go to Danny's website, you can upload a "diddly dee potato" ringtone for your cell phone. And I know what you mean - we say it ALL the time.
