Drumming my pain with his fingers...

We are in the midst of some of the best days of fall. Warm, sunny days where you just want to fling open the doors and windows to let in the light and all that fresh air.

My neighbour two doors down has done the same. How do I know this for sure?

Because it would appear my neighbour two doors down has a full set of drums. Whoever it is, and I'm going on the assumption it's a he judging from the gusto with which the set has been tackled, is playing long and loud and with considerable enthusiasm if not talent.

It's been going on all afternoon. And I mean ALL afternoon.

I work from home.

I'm about ready to rip out my own ears and feed them to the dog.

Why not guitar? Why not flute? Or banjo, harmonica or even a fricking tuba?

Drums.

Makes one long for a good snow fall.

Yikes!
Noise-cancelling headphones are a cheap solution to saving your sanity.
Ask the drummer for a pair, he's obviously wearing some!

Oh, I SO share your pain. We, too, have a drumming neighbour. Hours and hours at a time, right outside the windows of the side of the house where I like best to work. Some days it drives me insane.

I SO get it. We had new neighbours move in 3 weeks ago. Although they're lovely people they've been sawing down trees (big, old trees - makes me cry) and bulldozing to put in a pool. There's been non-stop noise from 8:00 to 6:00 pm every.single.day. for 3 weeks. Every time I open my sliding door I have to close it 5 minutes later. All this beautiful weather and I can't open my windows. Ugh.

Ro, I have those Bose headphones but I don't want to wear them IN MY OWN HOUSE. How difficult would it be to steal a set of drums?

Kathy, we have so much in common it's spooky.(g)

Yutha, are these new people replacing the ones with the three barking obnoxious dogs?! And don't you have bylaws protecting trees? We do.

Yes, they did replace the old neighbours with the barking dogs. But I think I jinxed when I said "well, the new neighbours can't be any worse than the old ones!". And yes, there are laws protecting the trees but, after calling the bylaw office, I guess they chose not to do anything about it. Not much else I can do (and I don't want to be a Gladys Kravitz).

Sheeyah, you jinxed it! But at least there's an end in sight when the pool is finished (knock wood, spin three times and spit.)

And I hate it when people chop down trees like that, especially between properties so no more privacy. Tell you what. I'll come visit and we'll moon them over the fence. That'll teach 'em.

What? You have no place to hide bodies where you live?

True, I could stuff 'em under the porch with the skunks...

Perfect. The skunks would help mask that awkward smell of decomposition.
