Don't talk back to Darth

Star Wars, encapsulated over a juice cup.

Here's to a great weekend, everyone. Me? I'll be shovelling the next 30cm of snow they're predicting.

First thing I noticed was how cognitively present that child is -- maybe it's because she's a girl; girls develop so much quicker than boys. She's marvelous, darling, sincere, beautiful, and she's whole. I'm sure you meant this to be light-hearted, and I took it that way. But, as a mother of an autistic teenager and an advocate for people with special needs, I saw it though those eyes first. She is a blessing to her parents.

PS: I'll watch our for Darth.

Oh, I agree, she is an absolute delight. And there aren't many little ones who are so articulate at such a young age. There's such wisdom in such a tiny package. I adored that stage, around the age of three or four. They are so free and their imaginations seem limitless. I miss that...

I remember a nine-year-old patient of my husband's who was actually an old soul trapped in a young body. I used to book extra time for him so we could chat.

Ah, all kids are special in different ways.

I love Three. Three is the best age ever. What a dolly...

MM--I can appreciate your perspective. I have it, too. It makes me grateful. Your son is also lucky to have you.

I would never talk back to Darth. Never. That little angel is delightful. We had a bit of a problem naming our son Lucas, which he later shortened to 'Luke.' He became very tired of a certain Star Wars line, unless my husband called him. "Luke! I *am* your father." Tough to beat that rap.
