City Fact #457
If you dress like this in the city, even if it's pouring rain and you have to walk your dog because you no longer have the option of lolling about in the morning in your pajamas whilst the dog does his business and frolics in the fenced-in backyard but hey I'M NOT BITTER ABOUT THAT PART OF APARTMENT LIVING, and even if you gussy up said plaid jacket and Sandals baseball cap (read:classy) with a colour coordinated silk scarf, people will avoid looking you in the eye nor will they stop to pet your dog.
Montreal women do not dress this way.
Ever.
They wear chic little outfits like the woman I saw yesterday. She was wearing Coach rubber boots with corset type laces up the front, black tights/skirt/jacket, carrying a silver bag, smoking an improbably thin cigarette and carrying a baby sling housing a Chihuahua in a black vest with sheepskin trim.
But would she win in a bar fight?
I think not.

Nah. I think you could take her...
I could win that one just by sitting on her for a minute or so.
My money is on you...
Obviously, a skinny chick with no sense of self-preservation as far as bar fighting is concerned. ;)
Or warmth! I mean, what good are chic little boots when your feet have fallen off from the cold?
I'm w/ nightsmusic. Being cool is not nearly as important as being warm, leastways not in my book.
I think it comes with age. Unless you're Madonna. But I have no plans to dress up as a cheerleader.
...and Doug is soooooo disappointed.
I think he'd die laughing, and therefore defeat the purpose. I mean, really Madonna? A cheerleader? She should take her cues from Catherine Deneuve, or Diane Keaton. Come ON.
If it requires certain styling to achieve getting your dog petted, be assured that the dog isn't always what is imagined in the petting scenario.
Therefore, with ensemble about comfort, be assured the regard for your dog will be one of respect!
Madonna is an act. Not a class act. She's smart and she markets herself. But she is not a class act.
Jeanie, HAHAHAHA!! Love that.
