My Wish For You in 2012 and Ever After

May your days be filled with love and laughter.

Dream big. You never know what may come of it.

Write, paint, dance, sing, create something that comes from your heart not your head.

Send that little piece of you out into the world and see where it lands.

Think long and hard about what makes you truly happy.

Are you doing it? If not, ask yourself why.

Don't get trapped by should haves or could haves.

Don't feel guilty about following your bliss.

Grab that bliss by the ears and kiss it hard. On the lips.

Be good to those who deserve it, but also to those who don't, because being kind is more about you than them.

Take a chance, on someone or something. Honestly, what do you have to lose compared to what you stand to gain?

Do something that scares the crap out of you. When you are on the other side of it, you will feel a euphoria that is indescribable, whether it's paddling down a raging river, or giving a speech to your peers.

Every once in a while, treat yourself to the good stuff. The best of the best. Buy a bottle of fine champagne, a box of the richest chocolate, the most luxurious bar of French hand-milled soap, or shrimp the size of a baby's fist. Enjoy it with someone deserving, and by someone I mean you.

Happy New Year

I especially loved:
#3 (Write, paint, dance, sing, create - from the heart).. so very true. So often I stop to think "what will people think?" or "but I've never done this before - what if I don't like how it turns out?" So what. Live and learn. If it's from the heart, can it *truly* go wrong? It's worth a try, I say.
#5 what makes me truly happy.. life only comes once, I need to get out there and do what I enjoy NOW. In some ways, it good to live for tomorrow, not just today.. in regards to planning and responsibility, but in other ways, I MUST live for today, because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
#10 doing good to others.. secretly, it is almost more joyous to give to those who do not deserve, I feel a special serenity and peace.. do you know what I mean? It's also invigorating.
#12, definitely #12. "once you overcome it" -yeah, gotta keep your focus on the end goal, while at the same time not forgetting to enjoy the present. In some cases it is not at all pleasant to acknowledge what you're going through, at yet, it can teach you to appreciate your abilities and strengths. I think of this every day, as I am an endurance runner. I hate the long runs, especially in the cold.. yet it feels SO good to know I can make myself do this. It's bittersweet. :)
#13 Absolutely, yes ma'am! I will certainly follow that one to the T!

Happy New Year to you and yours - and thanks for this inspiration! Great timing too, because I'm getting up at 5 for a grueling (lol) Zumba class. boo-yah! :D
