Field Trip

Went to visit a friend this week. She has a new cottage. The weather was iffy, it being November. But it was still wonderful to be in the country.
Her lake is long and shallow, so the ice is already forming.

Her cottage is warm and cosy. Not so the old outhouse in the woods.
But it still has its charms.
I liked this old tree, struggling to hang on, its roots wrapped around a mossy rock.
And at the base of this tree, a magic door where a sprite lives. I opened the door to see inside, just to make sure.
A Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

Gosh they are a serene set of images... lovely. Esp loved the roots... and the door. Who put that there I wonder? (Besides the sprites of course!)

Thank you, Pam. We had a great dinner at my brother's house.
I love your photographs. You should publish a book.

Er. Pam. That picture of the outhouse door, the moon and the star...what is that brown hairy thing behind it? I really have to know this.

Ah, you guys are too kind!

Debby, you crack me up (no outhouse pun intended) but I think that's just the old screen and a handful of pine needles swept up by the wind (no outhouse pun intended.)

Oh, good.

Hey look, an outhouse with the Turkish flag on it! I wonder why...

Don't know, it's near Morin Heights. Is there a big Turkish population up there I don't know about? Although I do know half moons are popular carvings on outhouse doors.

Hee hee - maybe it has more to do with nocturnal outhouse visits...
